Tooth extraction is the permanent removal of a tooth from its socket. An extraction is recommended when the tooth cannot be saved, as other treatments are no longer possible to prevent infection from spreading to other areas of your mouth.
What happens next?
All extractions are assessed by the dentist, to ensure that the tooth can be extracted safely. In some cases, you may need a referral to the hospital, this can be arranged by our dental team.
Help & advice if you’re bleeding?
If you are experiencing any bleeding, try to stop it by using clean damp gauze and applying direct pressure on the site of the tooth.
