What causes toothache?
Toothache refers to pain that you experience in or around the teeth and jaw that usually is caused by cavities or tooth decay. Toothache is caused by many factors such as a cavity, cracked or chipped tooth, a worn or lost filling, or even due to gum disease. Sensitive teeth can also cause pain and discomfort, this is due to worn tooth enamel or exposed tooth roots.

So if you are experiencing:

  • Sharp or dull pain.
  • Intermittent or constant toothache.

These are all signs that your tooth is infected and you will require emergency dental treatment.

Pain Relief:
You need to see the dentist if you are experiencing the following:

  • You have a toothache that lasts longer than 1 or 2 days.
  • You have a fever, earache, or pain upon opening your mouth wide.

Pain relief is essential when you’re suffering from a toothache or an abscess. In some cases, you may need antibiotics which we can prescribe at the practice.

I visited this dental practice for a toothache I had. I was very scared due to a bad experience in the past however the dentist made me feel at ease. Lovely little practice.

Highly recommend Hale Bowdon Dental. Have been a patient of Dr Khan for over 10 years...superb patient care, professional and accommodating. Service with a smile (no pun intended!) no matter how busy the team are. 5* dentist and a lovely practice too. Thank you Dr Khan!

Unfortunately we have received a number of 1 star reviews all one after another in an attempt to cause intimidation. We recently reported a theft at out premises and are now being threatened and intimidated to drop the charges. We will not tolerate such behaviour and this kind of behaviour has only determined the company to proceed with the charges. In the mean time please ignore all of these ridiculous reviews and we will still continue to provide the high level of service we are known for.

I have had a great experience. I am a new patient, preparing my teeth for braces. I don't have the best teeth and scared of the dentist. This was taken into account and was made sure I was aware of each step and overcome my fear. I have a treatment plan in place . Back next week!
